Bowel cancer treatment

Just wanted to thank you and your wonderful staff for the excellent care & attention I received during my recent stay. I have no doubt that you saved my life and the professionalism of the nurses and the lovely atmosphere in the ward almost certainly contributed to my recovery. Carry on the good work with grateful thanks. MA October 2013
Bowel problems are a common reason to seek medical advice. Although most problems are easily treated, on occasion, specialised tests such as colonoscopy or scans are required
Colonoscopy is used to investigate bowel symptoms such as diarrhoea, rectal bleeding or following a positive QFIT result in the bowel cancer screening programme
Haemorrhoids (piles) can cause symptoms such as bleeding, protrusion and itch and pain. Modern day case treatments such as the THD procedure or HALO treatment for piles can provide lasting relief
Bowel cancer is one of the commonest causes of cancer in Scotland. If detected early, it is very treatable and potentially curable, so it is important not to ignore bowel cancer symptoms
